One City One Prompt Events
Jacinta White is hosting an innovative form of One City, One Prompt in Greensboro North Carolina–with the goal of to getting everyone in the city on “the same page.” Jacinta writes to her partners: “You already know that I believe writing to be a transformative act; One City One Prompt invites those, not just in our area but across the globe, to focus on one theme and to write individually and collectively. And, in case you’re wondering OCOP is not poetry specific! My goal is to get the word out, to build excitement of all ages for sharing their stories through writing, and to assist in the sharing and healing process. Won’t you join me?!
Here are ways you can help:
  1. Invite me to do a 1-2 hour workshop on the OCOP theme;
  2. Promote the OCOP theme within your groups;
  3. Participate by writing and submitting your work;
  4. Host or assist in planning a celebration of OCOP;
  5. (And if you already lead a group and decide to use this prompt, please contact me so we can document it)!”

OCOP is a year-long event but for our area it will be March 1 – April 30, 2014. In addition to face-to-face workshops, those interested who sign up will receive prompts via email and I’m creating an interactive website where sharing and discussions can take place. I hope to do at least 4 workshops with specific groups as well as those open to the public. If you’re interested in partnering, please contact me soon. Let’s make this a community effort!” For more information about this 2 month long series of events and activities please contact Jacinta at: http://www.poetryheals
