Begin Again: Writing to Renew Ourselves, a workshop for people with serious illness and their caregivers, hosted by Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg
1-5 p.m., Sun., March 9
Where: Turning Point: The Center for Hope & Healing, 8900 State Line Road, Leawood, KS
Through writing in community, we can discover refreshing ways to begin again in our lives: to renew and revitalize ourselves and our lives. Drawing on innovative and lively writing exercises, we’ll write from where we are toward what wants to be said. We’ll also talk about how writing can be a comforting and interesting companion for us as we live with, recover from or surrender to serious illness. Finally, all who wish can share their writing through One City One Prompt, an international project that brings together people writing about one topic, which, for 2014, is “Begin Again.” Come write about what your life is showing you about how to live with greater meaning, connection and joy. All who write or want to write are welcome.
The workshop is free for all people living with serious illness and/or their caregivers, but pre-registration is required. Contact Turning Point to register.
