Lauryn Axelrodis a community-based artist specializing in writing and performance and has been leading creative writing workshops and retreats for almost 10 years. Her interest in the OCOP is to share the process and joy of writing together. She is founder of Circle of Writers, and she is an award-winning author, journalist, editor and teacher. Her articles, essays, poems and photographs have been featured in The Village Voice, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, and numerous other journals and publications. She began writing at age 11, when her first poem was published. Since then, she has published stories, plays, screenplays, essays, articles, and non-fiction books. Lauryn holds a BA from Bennington College, is a certified AWA Instructor, and an MFA in Creative Writing. As a group leader and writing instructor, Lauryn insists that everyone has the potential to write, whether for pleasure or profession. Through inspiring exercises and discussion, she strives to create a supportiveĀ environment in which every writer has the opportunity to explore and discover their own unique voice and story.
